What is a NanoPeel?
A NanoPeel is a safe and effective laser resurfacing treatment designed to remove dead skin cells and other impurities from the complexion. The NanoPeel is less invasive and harsh than other techniques, like traditional laser resurfacing procedures and chemical peels. The NanoPeel uses the power of an Er: YAG Laser to gently but thoroughly slough away the top layers of the skin, which is where most signs of sun damage and aging begin to show.
Candidates for a NanoPeel
The best candidates may have hyperpigmentation, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, and acne scarring. These candidates may be interested in seeing a younger and smoother complexion, but don’t want to use harsher or more intense procedures to get there. A NanoPeel may not suit all skin types and tones, so it’s important to schedule a consultation to see if you’re a good candidate.
How Does It Work?
Before your NanoPeel procedure, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and prepped for laser treatment. Next, your esthetician will use the NanoPeel laser to carefully deliver the laser light energy to the surface of the skin. The procedure ends up creating a frost-like crust on the skin, which is gently sloughed away at the end of the treatment. This final step helps clear away dead skin cells, allowing the newer skin hiding underneath to come to the surface.
Is It Painful?
A NanoPeel shouldn’t be painful, but some clients may be worried about feeling uncomfortable. For that reason, your esthetician can apply a topical solution to help numb the area before your treatment begins.
Is There Any Downtime?
There’s no downtime associated with a NanoPeel; however, clients will notice that their skin looks a little red and irritated within the first week after treatment. Some peeling may also occur. In general, clients can expect to see results from their NanoPeel after one week.
