What is a MicroPeel?
A MicroPeel is a safe and effective topical solution designed to remove dead skin cells and other impurities from the complexion. A MicroPeel is formulated to be much more gentle than a chemical peel, which uses a stronger acidic solution to peel away the top layer of the dermis. A MicroPeel accomplishes similar aesthetic goals as a traditional chemical peel, but over a longer period of time and without significant recovery.
Candidates for a MicroPeel
The best candidates for a MicroPeel may have hyperpigmentation, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, and acne scarring. Most skin types and tones can undergo a MicroPeel.
How Does It Work?
The MicroPeel uses a solution that’s comprised of a 20%-30% glycolic acid solution, which is directly applied to the service of clean skin. The solution sits for a set amount of time; during this period, some clients may experience mild itching and burning. After the solution is removed, a moisturizing solution will be applied to the skin to help counteract any itching and burning.
Most clients will need about 3-6 MicroPeel sessions to see their ideal results.
Is It Painful?
The MicroPeel is purposefully designed not to be as uncomfortable as a traditional chemical peel, but some clients may still experience some burning and itching. These side effects usually disappear after a day or two.
Is There Any Downtime?
There’s no downtime associated with a MicroPeel; clients can immediately re-apply makeup and go back to their normal routine.
