What is Dysport?
Dysport is an FDA-approved anti-aging injection that’s designed to smooth away frown lines on the forehead, as well as crow’s feet. Dysport is similar to Botox in that it uses botulinum toxin type A to achieve its goals. However, Dysport contains less of this primary ingredient per injection, thus helping patients to achieve more natural goals or to dip their toes into the world of anti-aging injectables.
Candidates for Dysport
The best candidates for Dysport are clients who may have noticed significant frown lines and furrows on their forehead. Some candidates may also want to use Dysport to minimize the appearance of crow’s feet at the corners of their eyes, as well as create subtle lift along the eyebrows.
How Does It Work?
Dysport contains botulinum toxin type A, which interrupts the signals between the brain and the nerves within the muscles of the injection site. When this occurs, the corresponding muscles move less, which decreases the repetitive movements that exacerbate the appearance of frown lines and crow’s feet.
Is It Painful?
Dysport isn’t painful, but some clients who don’t like needles may need a topical anesthetic applied to the skin to feel more comfortable with their procedure.
Is There Any Downtime?
There’s no downtime associated with Dysport; clients can continue on with their normal routines immediately after treatment. Like with Botox, it is recommended that clients avoid the gym for the first 24 hours after injection. Heat can spread the newly injected Dysport formula throughout the injection area, which can interfere with your final results.
