Why Should I Get An Eyelid Lift?

It’s no surprise that as we age, our facial features can begin to show our years. The eyelids are often a forgotten feature, as patients tend to focus on improving their forehead, cheeks and areas around the mouth. The eyelids are actually one of the most used, muscle driven facial features, and thus can start to show signs of aging earlier than other areas of the face. An eyelid lift, also known as blepharoplasty, can help correct these symptoms, and provide patients with a more refreshed and youthful appearance. Who Is A Candidate? When considering an eyelid lift, it’s important to first determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. Patients who have drooping of the upper eyelid, fatty deposits underneath their eyes, or those who have trouble seeing due to sagging skin around their eyes, are all ideal candidates for the procedure. Patients should also be non-smokers, and have realistic expectations for the outcome of their procedure. View Our Eyelid Rejuvenation Gallery What Are the Benefits? During an eyelid lift, the plastic surgeon will make incisions within the lash line to minimize any surgical scarring. They will then remove any excess fat around the eyes and trim excess skin, closing the incisions once these gentle adjustments are made. The results are a more natural and youthful position of the eyelids. The procedure has a very high patient satisfaction rate due [...]

What Happens During an Abdominoplasty?

A slimmer midsection is a common goal of many plastic surgery patients. An abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck, is a surgical procedure that can help patients improve their midsection by removing excess fat and sagging skin. The best way to determine candidacy for the procedure is through an initial consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon, but before doing so it’s important to understand how an abdominoplasty is performed. How Does It Work? A full abdominoplasty is performed while the patient is under general anesthesia. The plastic surgeon will make an incision between the pubic hairline and the belly button, and then adjust the abdominal skin and muscle as needed. Occasionally, liposuction will also be used to remove excess fat. The surgeon will then close the incisions, the results are a flatter, slimming looking stomach. When Will I See Results? Following a tummy tuck procedure, patients should plan to rest for at least 1-2 weeks, and should avoid bending over or lifting heavy objects. Patients are typically able to return to work after 1 week, and can resume normal daily activities after 4-6 weeks. Results will be fully noticeable 6 weeks following surgery, as the post-surgery swelling and bruising will have diminished. Patients will notice a flatter, more contoured stomach area, particularly in the months following treatment. View Our Gallery Am I A Candidate? Breast augmentation is among the most popular cosmetic procedures in the country. Whether the patient is looking to restore their pre-baby figure, or simply wants to feel more confident about their breasts, undergoing a surgical procedure is a big decision. During an initial consultation, the plastic surgeon will walk the patient through the steps leading up to, and following the procedure. One of the most asked questions during the consultation process is how long is the recovery from a breast augmentation? VIEW MORE PATIENT RESULTS What is a Breast Augmentation? A breast augmentation, also commonly known as a boob job, is a surgical procedure that enhances the size and shape of the breasts with implants. During the procedure, the plastic surgeon will make an incision around, or underneath the breast, and place the implant either above or under the pectoral muscle. Implants are typically filled with saline or silicone, and the plastic surgeon can help advise on which implant is best for the patient’s goals or needs. Upon placement, the plastic surgeon will then close the incision using dissolving sutures. How Long Is the Recovery Process? The recovery process from breast augmentation is not something that should be taken lightly, as the body will need to time to heal from the procedure. The initial recovery process typically takes about 2-3 weeks, during that time patients are encouraged to wear a support garment, or keep [...]
